Board of Control for Cricket in India secretary Devajit Saikia expressed complete confidence that the country will ultimately secure physical possession of their Asia Cup trophies, following the women's team's refusal to accept the silverware from Asian Cricket Council president Mohsin Naqvi.

The stance unfolded in Dubai after India's women's team registered a convincing victory over Sri Lanka in the final. During the post-match ceremony, the squad maintained the Indian board's precedent by refraining from receiving the trophy directly from Naqvi, who simultaneously holds office as the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board.

Saikia emphasized that while immediate presentation protocols led to the standoff, the physical trophies belong to the champions and will inevitably reach the BCCI headquarters in Mumbai in due course.

The administrative Friction reflects the broader geopolitical sensitivities governing bilateral sporting engagements between India and Pakistan. The Indian board has consistently maintained a strict policy regarding official interactions with Pakistani administrators at presentation ceremonies.

Despite the off-field standoff, the Indian team's dominant campaign reaffirmed their supreme standing in Asian cricket. The players chose to focus entirely on their performance, leaving administrative resolution to the governing bodies.

The Asian Cricket Council has yet to issue an official statement regarding the logistics of handing over the physical trophy, but cricket officials anticipate the issue will be handled through standard diplomatic and administrative channels.

This latest episode adds another chapter to the ongoing administrative tensions between regional cricket boards, even as India continues its commanding run across continental tournaments.
