Mitchell Santner etched his name into New Zealand cricket history by becoming the nation's most-capped men's T20I player. The landmark appearance arrived during the fifth T20I encounter against India in Hamilton.

By stepping onto the field for his 143rd match in the format, Santner surpassed fellow teammate Ish Sodhi's long-standing record. The milestone highlights a remarkable international career that commenced back in 2015.

The seasoned all-rounder's longevity and consistency have remained vital pillars for the Black Caps setup across nearly a decade of white-ball cricket. This latest achievement follows another major career milestone, having recently claimed his 150th T20I wicket to enter an exclusive bracket of New Zealand bowlers.
