Afghanistan has risen to seventh place in the latest ICC Men's ODI team rankings following a convincing victory over Zimbabwe. This upward movement marks their equal all-time highest ranking, a milestone they first achieved in May 2025.

During the fixture against Zimbabwe, the Afghan bowling attack dismantled the opposition, bowling them out for 169 runs. The target was chased down comfortably under lights, engineered by Ibrahim Zadran who anchored the innings with an unbeaten 70.

With this rankings update, Afghanistan successfully leapfrogged England to reclaim their best-ever standing in international 50-over cricket. At the top of the global ladder, India continues to hold the number one position, followed closely by New Zealand and South Africa.
