England Include Four-Day Game in India Tour as Ashes Prep
England A will play a four-day match, alongside T20s and 50-over fixtures, during their November-December tour of India to prepare for the upcoming Women's Ashes.

England A have scheduled a four-day red-ball fixture as a core component of their upcoming tour to India, specifically designed to fine-tune preparations for next summer's Women's Ashes. The traveling contingent will head to the subcontinent in November and December to contest three T20s, three 50-over matches, and the marquee four-day contest.
This developmental excursion addresses a significant gap in the calendar, with the senior squad facing another winter devoid of international fixtures following their 3-0 home series sweep against Ireland in September. The team's itinerary kicks off with the T20 fixtures in Pune on November 30, before the action shifts to Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium for the 50-over games and the red-ball showdown.
The multi-format Ashes series, a fixture of the calendar since 2013, gets underway with a four-day Test starting on June 27 at Headingley. England will enter the contest looking to overturn a disappointing 16-0 defeat suffered away from home during the 2025 campaign, having shown improvement by reaching the T20 World Cup final earlier this year.
A total of 11 players selected across the A squad formats bring senior international experience to the group. Established fast bowlers Issy Wong and Lauren Filer are joined by emerging left-arm spinner Tilly Corteen-Coleman, alongside all-rounders Mady Villiers, Charis Pavely, and Jodi Grewcock.
Wicketkeeper-batter Kira Chathli and seamer Grace Ballinger add further depth to the touring party. Meanwhile, Ryana Macdonald-Gay features across both white-ball squads, and top-order batter Grace Scrivens has been named in the 50-over and four-day selections.
