Jaker and Shamim Named in BCB XI for West Indies Warm-Up
Jaker Ali and Shamim Hossain have been selected in the BCB XI squad for the two-day warm-up match against the visiting West Indies team ahead of the Test series.

Jaker Ali and Shamim Hossain have been included in the BCB XI squad for a two-day warm-up match against West Indies, alongside several standout performers from the ongoing National Cricket League.
The two-day fixture is scheduled to be played on Thursday and Friday at Bashundhara’s Anvir Cricket Stadium. The match is primarily organized to help the touring Caribbean side prepare for the upcoming two-Test series.
The first Test of the series is set to begin in Dhaka on October 28, with the second Test scheduled to take place in Sylhet starting November 5.
The newly announced squad features two age-group cricketers and notable young pace bowlers, though it notably lacks an established spinner.
Opportunities have been extended to rising fast bowlers, including Anik Deb Barma, who made his first-class debut for Sylhet Division in the current league, and Abdul Halim, a consistent performer in domestic cricket over recent years. Rangpur pace-bowling all-rounder Chowdhury Mohammad Rizwan has also earned a place.
In the batting department, Mymensingh Division's Mahfizul Islam Robin, who has recorded two half-centuries and a century in the ongoing league, secures a spot alongside aggressive opener Jisan Alam.
