The Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA) has confirmed that the upcoming Twenty20 International fixture between India and Afghanistan is on track to take place according to its original schedule, dispelling initial concerns over potential delays.

However, administrators are not ruling out administrative adjustments just yet. A senior official from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) revealed that moving the match date remains an active contingency plan should unforeseen circumstances arise.

Reports suggest that if operational or venue requirements necessitate a shift, the fixture could be moved to Monday. Despite this, the DDCA maintains that all ground preparations, ticketing, and security measures are currently progressing for the set match day.

Encounters between India and Afghanistan in the game's shortest format carry high anticipation, especially given Afghanistan's meteoric rise in T20 cricket and India's deep pool of talent.

Hosting a high-profile international game in the national capital demands extensive coordination involving local authorities, broadcast partners, and logistics teams, making any last-minute change a complex task.

For the moment, both the host association and board officials are closely monitoring events to ensure the match is staged smoothly, with cricket fans keeping their eyes on final confirmations.
