Taskin Ahmed has returned to Bangladesh’s squad for the first Test against West Indies, while wicketkeeper-batter Litton Das has retained his place after recovering from injury, the Bangladesh Cricket Board announced on Friday.

The opening Test begins at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on Wednesday, forming part of the ongoing World Test Championship cycle.

Litton missed the recent ODI tri-series in the United Arab Emirates due to injury but has recovered in time for the Test series. Taskin, meanwhile, returns after being rested for Bangladesh’s most recent Test against Afghanistan.

Meanwhile, batter Soumya Sarkar and pacer Syed Khaled Ahmed, who were part of the squad for the Afghanistan Test, have been left out of the 15-member roster.

Najmul Hossain Shanto will lead the side in Mirpur, supported by an experienced core including Mominul Haque, Mushfiqur Rahim, and Mehidy Hasan Miraz.
