Having already booked their ticket to the 2026 T20 World Cup, the Bangladesh women's cricket team celebrated their qualification in style by demolishing Scotland by 90 runs in their Super Six encounter on Friday.

Playing at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur, the Tigresses registered their sixth consecutive victory in the qualifiers, maintaining a perfect record. The 90-run triumph stands as Bangladesh’s third-largest victory margin in T20I history.

Opting to bat first, Bangladesh posted a colossal total of 191 for 5—their joint-second highest total in the format. The foundation was laid by openers Dilara Akter (39) and Juairiya Ferdous (22), who stitched together a 67-run stand.

After a brief stutter where Bangladesh lost three quick wickets, including Sharmin Akhter (15), Captain Nigar Sultana Joty and Sobhana Mostary unleashed carnage on the Scottish bowling. The duo formed a devastating 100-run partnership for the fourth wicket.

In reply, Scotland crumbled under the pressure of the massive target and the precision of the Bangladeshi bowlers. Pacer Marufa Akter struck on the very first ball of the innings—a feat she achieved in the previous match as well—setting the tone for the defense.

Scotland never recovered, losing wickets at regular intervals. Pippa Sproul, batting at number eight, offered the only resistance with an unbeaten 27, while Megan McColl and Priyanaz Chatterji added 20 each. The Scots eventually crawled to 101 for 9 in their 20 overs. Marufa Akter finished with figures of 3 for 25, while Shorna Akter claimed 2 for 21.
