India fast bowler Prasidh Krishna is facing a race against time to prove his fitness ahead of the upcoming ODI series against New Zealand. The right-arm pacer has sustained a hamstring injury that is expected to sideline him for at least three weeks.

The setback also rules him out of the opening round of the prestigious Ranji Trophy. Karnataka is scheduled to kick off their domestic campaign against Andhra Pradesh in Vijayawada starting October 11.

With a recovery timeline stretching over three weeks, medical staff will closely monitor his rehabilitation. His inclusion in the squad for the New Zealand ODIs remains touch and go.

The team management will await further updates from the National Cricket Academy before making a final assessment on his availability for international fixtures.
