Rabada's Availability for First Australia Test to Be Decided 'As Late as Possible'
South Africa's fast bowler Kagiso Rabada faces a late fitness call for the upcoming Test against Australia, having not played red-ball cricket in nearly a year.
South Africa's team management has confirmed that a final decision regarding fast bowler Kagiso Rabada's availability for the first Test against Australia will be made as late as possible.
The premier fast bowler has been out of action in red-ball cricket for nearly a year. His last appearance in the longest format came during South Africa's tour to Pakistan last October.
The long gap away from multi-day cricket has prompted cautious handling by the team staff as they evaluate his readiness for the high-intensity series opener.
