England fast bowler Brydon Carse has been cleared of any wrongdoing after Derbyshire Police formally concluded their investigation into an alleged assault without pressing charges.

The police probe had previously cast a heavy shadow over the 29-year-old paceman's international ambitions, costing him a place in England's Test squad for their tour of Pakistan.

Law enforcement authorities confirmed that after reviewing all available evidence, the investigation has been dropped and no further legal action will be taken against the Durham cricketer.

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) had adopted a cautious stance when the allegations first emerged, opting to leave Carse out of the traveling party for the three-match Test series in Pakistan while local authorities completed their inquiries.

Carse, who impressed with his raw pace and aggression during his initial outings in England colors, spent months under intense public scrutiny while waiting for the legal matter to be resolved.

With all criminal investigations now officially closed, the aggressive quick is cleared to resume his international career and compete for a spot in England's upcoming series across formats.

The news comes as a major boost for the English team management, which views Carse as a vital fast-bowling asset given his ability to generate sharp bounce and hit high speeds on flat subcontinent pitches.
