Litton ruled out of UAE tri-series; Miraz misses opener
Bangladesh ODI captain Litton Das has been ruled out of the ongoing tri-nation series in the UAE due to a right hip joint issue, while Mehidy Hasan Miraz misses the opener with a fever.

Bangladesh ODI captain Litton Das has been ruled out of the ongoing tri-nation series in the UAE due to a right hip joint issue, according to a Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) medical official. National team physio Bayjedul Islam Khan stated in a video message that Litton complained of right hip joint discomfort, and an MRI scan subsequently revealed a slight issue in the joint.
Litton still attempted a fitness test to see if he could take the field, but he failed to clear the required benchmark. Having been appointed full-time ODI captain in July after previously leading the team in seven ODIs, this injury denies him the opportunity to lead the Tigers in the format for the first time since his appointment.
In Litton's absence, Towhid Hridoy has taken over leadership duties for Bangladesh in their opening match against Zimbabwe in Abu Dhabi. Hridoy has also become the 18th Bangladeshi cricketer to captain the national side in the 50-over format, with the Tigers bowling first after losing the toss.
Meanwhile, former Bangladesh skipper Mehidy Hasan Miraz is also unavailable for the tri-series opener. Team physio Bayjedul confirmed that Miraz has been suffering from a fever for the last three days, keeping him out of contention for the team's first fixture.
