Joty seeks team effort to shock mighty Australia in historic ODI series
Bangladesh captain Nigar Sultana Joty believes her team can spring a surprise against world-class Australia if they perform as a collective unit in their historic three-match ODI series starting in Brisbane.

Nigar Sultana Joty remains confident that the Tigresses can spring a surprise in the historic three-match ODI series against the mighty Australians, beginning at Allan Border Field in Brisbane on Friday.
The series marks Bangladesh's first bilateral tour of Australia, presenting a formidable challenge against the seven-time world champions who hold the No. 1 ranking in the world, while Bangladesh sits at seventh.
Ahead of the match, skipper Joty emphasized the importance of collective performance, stating that when the squad operates as a whole unit, they possess the capability to upset any opponent.
Bangladesh enters the contest following a 72-run defeat to Queensland in their lone warm-up match, a fixture that provided valuable insights into the pace and bounce of Australian conditions.
New head coach David Hemp noted that the squad has worked hard to adjust to the lively wickets and urged his players to maintain a positive mindset throughout the challenge.
While the batting department remains a major area of concern and the pace attack features inexperienced options alongside Marufa Akter, uncapped pacer Habiba Islam Pinky offered encouragement by claiming four wickets in the practice game.
Australia will be led by all-rounder Tahlia McGrath in the absence of regular captain Sophie Molineux, who continues her recovery from a hip injury.
McGrath acknowledged the unique threat posed by Bangladesh's bowling attack, highlighting Marufa's swing bowling and the tricky nature of the slow, turning spin options.
