The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) was forced to make a late revision to India's Under-19 squad for the upcoming youth series against Australia after withdrawing cricketer Rohit Yadav due to age fraud discrepancies.

The decisive action underlines the Indian board's firm zero-tolerance policy towards age manipulation in junior domestic and international competitions.

Yadav had originally earned selection in the national junior setup following strong performances in domestic youth tournaments. However, routine verification checks conducted under the BCCI's protocol uncovered inconsistencies in his documentation.

Prompted by the findings, administrative officials immediately removed Yadav from the contingent to maintain the integrity of the squad ahead of the high-profile clashes against Australia.

To safeguard fair play in age-group cricket, the BCCI has increasingly relied on strict bone-density assessments alongside traditional birth certificate verification systems.

Despite these preventative measures, isolated instances of age fudging continue to surface, triggering swift suspension and replacement procedures by the board.

The revised India Under-19 squad is now finalizing its preparations as they look to turn their attention back to performance on the field against a formidable Australian side.
